GENEVA TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Three persons lost their lives in a two-vehicle crash east of South Haven on Monday afternoon.
According to the office of Van Buren County Sheriff Daniel Abbott, a SUV traveling eastbound on Baseline Road around 2 PM approached a stop sign at the intersection of 60th Street. As it slowed, another SUV slammed into the vehicle from behind at high speed, causing one vehicle to flip onto its top and the other to lie on its side.
A 46-year-old Illinois man in one of the vehicles, along with a 59-year-old woman and an 86-year-old woman in the other vehicle, both from Grand Junction, were declared dead at the scene by the Van Buren County Medical Examiner’s Office. The names of those who passed away were not immediately disclosed.
The crash remains under investigation, and anyone with any further information is asked to contact the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department.
