A sure sign that winter is on its way out is when seasonal weight restrictions are placed on roads. Why? Alex Doty is with the Ottawa County Road Commission.
Ottawa County placed seasonal weight restrictions on main county roadways on Wednesday; the Michigan Department of Transportation will issue a similar mandate for all state trunk lines across Michigan on Friday. No word yet from Allegan County on if and/or when such restrictions will be put into place. Based on past trends, these cautionary sanctions should be in place through the month of February.
