Lenora Faye Bair, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2024, at the age of 91.
Born on May 2, 1932, in Kendallville, IN, Lenora leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. Lenora dedicated her life to her family, serving as a devoted homemaker for 73 years alongside her beloved husband, Eugene Bair. A nurturing and caring mother, she raised three children, Thomas, Deborah, and Kevin. Lenora’s warmth and acceptance made her a natural social butterfly, effortlessly making everyone she met feel welcomed and loved. She had a beautiful way of turning strangers into friends.
With a heart committed to service, Lenora was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, where she tirelessly contributed to the women’s society. She found joy in engaging with the community and participating in social activities such as bingo.
Lenora’s memory will be forever cherished by her family, including her loving husband Eugene, children: Thomas (Janet) Bair, Deborah (Don) DeJonge, and Kevin (Amy) Bair; her beloved grandchildren: Heather Bair-Brake, John Hartman, Nathan (Sonja) Bair, Ryan (Diane) Hartman; great-grandchildren: Conner, Josh, Miriam, Naomi, Oliver and Ethan; her sister, Ruthanne Smith; niece, Cheryl Berger; nephew, Rick Smith; as well as many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Theresa Whitby.
A funeral service to celebrate Lenora’s life and faith will be held on February 1, 2024, at 11:30am at First United Methodist Church of Holland, 57 West 10th Street, Holland, MI 49423. Prior to the service, there will be visitation with Lenora’s family at church from 10:00am – 11:15am.
Lenora’s family extends their sincere gratitude to the caring staff of Hospice of Holland and all her compassionate caregivers at Resthaven.
