HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 18, 2024) – Two suspects are sought after a broad daylight robbery of a tobacco retailer on Holland’s South Side.
According to Department of Public Safety Captain of Administrative Services Bob Buursma, officers were dispatched to the Admiral Tobacco store off of South Washington just before 10:30 AM on Thursday morning. Staffers say that two men entered the establishment, brandished firearms, and demanded cash, which they received from the register. The suspects then fled into a blue four-door sedan, similar in style to a Toyota, which drove south down Washington Avenue. The two staffers on duty at the time were not hurt.
The suspects are described thusly: One was a heavy-set black man, wearing jeans, a black sweatshirt and a black ski mask; the other was average build, also wearing jeans, with a grey sweatshirt and a white ski mask. Buursma didn’t say if there was any surveillance video images available.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Holland Department of Public Safety (616-355-1150), or Ottawa County Silent Observer (877-887-4536).
