GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 17, 2024) – A 63-year-old Jenison man was critically injured after he was hit by an SUV while clearing out the snow from a duplex unit north of Hudsonville on Wednesday morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Tamminga, the unnamed man was operating a lawn tractor with a front snow blower attached around 11:30 AM at a residence off of Rosewood Street east of 28th Avenue. He was struck by the eastbound motor vehicle that apparently drove off the right shoulder of the snow-covered roadway, and the force of the collision caused the tractor to land on its side.
The stricken man was taken to an undisclosed “local hospital,” while the SUV driver, an 84-year-old man from Gowen, located east of Muskegon, was not hurt. The incident remains under investigation.
