PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Three persons were injured in a car-motorcycle crash on the way to the beach on Holland’s North Side on Saturday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Hallmeyer, first responders were dispatched to Ottawa Beach road near Lake Breeze Street around 4:15 PM. Investigators say that a westbound automobile, driven by a 51-year-old Hamilton woman, was looking to make a left turn into a private drive when her vehicle crossed into the path of a eastbound motorcycle. The collision caused the biker, a 51-year-old Grand Rapids man who was not wearing a helmet, and his passenger, a 50-year-old Caledonia woman who was helmeted, to be thrown from the motorcycle. All three persons involved were taken to Holland Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
No names were immediately revealed, and Hallmeyer added that, “alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash,” which remains under investigation.
