POLKTON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 27-year-old Muskegon woman was hospitalized in a single-vehicle crash near Coopersville during the early morning hours of Saturday.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matthew Wildfong said that first responders were dispatched around 5:25 AM to westbound I-96 near the 68th Avenue exit. They found a vehicle that had rolled over, and discovered that the unnamed driver had apparently nodded off and lost control of the vehicle, which then hit a cable barrier and overturned. The motorist was momentarily trapped when she called 911, but was able to extricate herself by the time first responders arrived.
The woman was taken to an undisclosed medical facility for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
