He is survived by his wife of 54 years Arloa; his children: Joel and Jennifer Schout, Curtis and Krista Schout, Rex and Kristin Schout, Naomi and Bruce Gilde, and Paul and Christine Schout; 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; his siblings: Reverend Philip and Shelby Schout, John and Judy Schout, Sharon and Lon Rupp, Beverly and Harvin Geerts; his brothers-in-law: Bob and Marsha De Boer, and Jack and Diane De Boer.
Dave was a farmer for most of his life and he retired from Howard Miller where he worked for 30 years. Dave was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday, December 15, 2023, and from 10-10:45 am Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. The funeral service will be 11 am Saturday also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Beaverdam Cemetery.
