LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 12, 2023) – Two projects in Holland are getting a financial boost from Lansing.
During a meeting on Tuesday, the Michigan Strategic Fund board approved a $2 million Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant to ATC Drivetrain. This will help the suburban Detroit-based firm consolidate a Center of Excellence at its newly-constructed facility off of Ottawa Avenue. ATC is pouring $7.9 million into the project, with 163 jobs created as a result.
In addition, hg medical is in line for a $1.8 million grant from that same program, with an additional $237,000 five-year State Essential Services Assessment exemption. This would help the contract manufacturer of highly complex orthopedic implants convert a former JCI facility off of West 48th Street through a $41 million investment, creating 180 jobs.
The Holland City Council had earlier approved tax abatements for both of these projects.
