Vern was a good man who loved his family and friends. He was a life-long member of Harlem Reformed Church, the church his family was charter members of. He enjoyed sports, especially golf.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Bloemers; daughter, Jill & Alan Woods; grandson, Tyler & Diana Woods and their children, Logan and Dario; granddaughter, Allison Woods; sisters: Sandy & Erv Ter Haar, Eunice Bakker; sisters-in-law: Jane Sleeman, Margaret Bloemers; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William & Jeanetta Bloemers; brother, Ellwyn Bloemers; and siblings-in-law: Pam Bouwkamp, Joe Sleeman, Larry Bakker, and Melvin Elzinga.
A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023 in the Compass Building of Harlem Reformed Church, 6854 144th St. Holland, MI 49424. Within the visitation, a brief service will take place at 6:00 p.m., also in the Compass Building. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to Harlem Reformed Church or the Harbor Humane Society.
