LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Charges have been filed against seven men in a multi-jurisdictional effort that apparently thwarted a purported effort to stage a coup on Michigan state government.
Attorney General Dana Nessel announced the indictments on a total of 19 felony counts against 38-year-old Michael Null of Plainwell, along with 21-year-old Paul Bellar of Milford, 38-year-old Shawn Fix of Belleville, 36-year-old Eric Molitor of Cadillac, 38-year-old William Null of Shelbyville, 42-year-old Pete Musico of Munith, and 42-year-old Joseph Morrison of Munith. They were known to be members of the Wolverine Watchmen or were associates of that militia group.
More than 200 state and federal law enforcement officials, including out-of-state-experts, executed a series of search and arrest warrants statewide in breaking up the effort to, among other things, attack the state capitol and kidnap Governor Whitmer and other government officials.
Six separate federal felony warrants were also levied in the case, which remains open.
