OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 28, 2023) – While the matter of Administrative Health Officer Adeline Hambley won’t be on the table, the Ottawa County Board is expected to address other matters during its biweekly meeting on Tuesday evening at the Fillmore Street Complex (12220 Fillmore Street, West Olive).
Among the items on the agenda is first reading of four proposed policy statements involving overall county policies, security reimbursement, employee selection, and employee behavior discipline and rules of conduct. According to County Administrator John Gibbs, these policies “require periodic review and updates.” A second reading and final vote by Commissioners would be set for December 5th.
Board members are again slated to go behind closed doors, but this time it’s connected with the negotiation of a collective bargaining agreement with one of the county’s unions, instead of an ongoing litigation filed by Hambley against the Board over an attempted dismissal last winter. A Monday court hearing on a proposed $4 million settlement the county reportedly extended to Hambley and then withdrawn was recessed until next Monday.
An online link to the 6:30 PM meeting agenda and supporting documents is here. However, when the county Board met last week, a deputy administrator distributed documents to board members that were not a part of the agenda and supporting documents posted online beforehand.
