HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 13, 2023) – Now there is a name and a face to a man wanted for questioning in the shooting death of a 33-year-old Holland woman one week ago.
On Monday, Department of Public Safety Captain of Administrative Services Bob Buursma released the name of Ramses Avimael Velasco Sanabria, whom detectives believe is involved in an altercation between occupants of two vehicles, stopped side by side on November 6th in the parking lot of Moran Park Church off of Michigan Avenue and 22nd Street. Shots rang out, and two persons in one of the vehicles were wounded.
A yet-to-be-named 34-year-old Holland man then drove to nearby Holland Hospital, where his passenger, Cassandra Casares, was pronounced deceased from her injuries, while he was eventually taken to Corewell-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for treatment. The occupants in the other vehicle involved drove off and has not been seen since.
Buursma didn’t reveal any details as to what led officers to suspect Sanabria, a 27-year-old man from West Olive who is still at large. A $2,500 reward has been offered for information leading to his arrest, and the captain cautioned the public to not approach Sanabria, as he should be considered armed and dangerous.
