HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 8, 2023) – A cautionary note that clerks routinely issue after posting balloting results took on more significance following Tuesday’s municipal General Election along the Lakeshore.
That is because all the voting for spots in the cities of Ferrysburg and Fennville, as well as for one of the hopefuls for the Second Ward berth on the Holland City Council and the Third Ward position on the Hudsonville City Commission, were for write-in candidates. Therefore, those results won’t be declared until the Board of County Canvassers in Ottawa (Ferrysburg, Holland and Hudsonville) and Allegan (Fennville) counties convene and officially count those write-in ballots. That is expected later this week.
In preliminary voting results among candidates in contested races, as well as on issues that were on Tuesday’s ballot (again, pending official certification by county canvassers):
