Heidi Fenton Tunison, 35, of Zeeland, died Wednesday, Oct. 11 following a courageous fight with cancer.
She lived for her two children, Quinn, 7, and Violet, 5, and she adored them in every way. Heidi was a strong in her Christian faith and loved Jesus.
Before becoming a mom, she was a journalist for the Grand Rapids Press, Muskegon Chronicle, and several other newspapers. Writing was her true passion, and she had a heart and flair for telling the stories of those experiencing hardship.
Heidi grew up in Spring Arbor and graduated from Central Michigan University.
She enjoyed long-distance running and competed in many races, loved a good latte and campfires, hated bananas, and had a knack for home decorating and warming a room.
For Heidi, being kind to others was paramount and she taught those values to her children.
She is survived by her husband, John Tunison; two children, Quinn and Violet; parents, Thomas and Connie Fenton; brother, Tyler (Kaylee) Fenton; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation with the family is 1:00-3:00 pm and 5:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Yntema Funeral Home 251 S. State St. Zeeland, MI 49464.
Funeral services are at 11:00 am on Monday, October 16, 2023, Ada Bible Church, Kentwood Campus, 2045 68th St. Caledonia, MI 49316. Please use the South Entrance.
Burial to take place in West Drenthe Cemetery.
