Dale Evan Brower, age 62 of Hamilton, Overisel Township, Allegan County, Michigan passed into his eternal home after a 3-year battle with colon/liver cancer, on October 6, 2023, at home with family.
Born on April 28, 1961, Dale accepted Jesus Christ as his savior as a child after attending Vacation Bible School at Hamilton Reformed Church. Dale grew up on his dad’s farm tending to pigs and cows, swimming in the Rabbit River, fishing, hunting, and chasing rabbits with his beagle, Bandit. He drove tractors, etc. harvesting corn, asparagus, and pickles. Dale is a Dutch descendant of Gerrit Jan Brower, from “The Overisel Colony”, Michigan. He was a Hamilton Troop Boy Scout and attended Hamilton Schools; graduating High School, Class of 1979. He also graduated from Grand Rapids Junior College with a degree in diesel engine mechanics.
While working at Hamilton Equipment Company on M-40 he met Kathy McKeever of Saugatuck, MI and they were married on April 27, 1985, at Immanuel Baptist Church of Holland. Dale was employed by Ryder Truck Rental and Leasing, Holland branch.
Dale was preceded in death by an infant sister, Paula Ann Brower; father, Glenn Jay Brower; grandparents, Harold and Etta Bleeker, and George and Sarah Brower; and mother-in-law, Florence McKeever.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathy (McKeever) Brower; two daughters, Ruthie and Darla; two sons, Dylan, and Travis (Haley); and granddaughters, Mia age 8 and Ingrid age 1 and 9 months. Also mourning his death are his mother, Nellie Brower of Hamilton, MI; two sisters, Jeanne (Dale) Scholten of Holland, MI, and Joanne (Greg) Iszler of Bozeman, MT; two brothers, Paul (Deb) Brower of Columbus, OH, and Gregg (Sue) Brower of West Olive, MI; and father-in-law, Paul McKeever; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation, with all his family, will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 East 16th St., Holland, MI 49423. A memorial service, with Rev. Dale Scholten officiating, is planned for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Immanuel Church, 325 104th Avenue, Holland, MI 49423. A luncheon will follow at the church.
