Donna is fondly remembered for her loving and caring spirit. She used these talents while working as a nurse for many years, getting her start in 1955. She obtained her nursing degree and taught at Massachusetts General School of Nursing, and went on to earn her Master’s degree from The University of Michigan. During this time, she had a special interest in public health.
Donna enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly fishing and being outdoors with her late husband, Ed. Although they did not have any children of their own, Donna and Ed treated their many nieces and nephews as grandchildren, and attended as many sporting and school events as they could.
Donna was a member of the United Methodist Church in Holland and was a member of Joy Circle, a women’s group at the church. She enjoyed spending time with everyone and sharing stories.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Ed, and her sister Sally Parker.
Donna is survived by her sister Phila (Gary) White, brother-in-law Ramond Parker, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by dear friend from her nursing days, Ethel.
A private family graveside service will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Holland or First United Methodist Church of Holland.
