HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) –Kids’ Food Basket officials announced a community challenge to collect 100-thousand decorated bags in honor of Brown Bag Decorating Day on Oct. 23, 2020.
Everyone is encouraged to decorate paper bags and donate them to be used for the Sack Supper program, which sends healthful food to children and families in Kent, Muskegon, Ottawa and Allegan counties.
TCF Bank is joining forces as a community partner to give 10 cents for every bag decorated up to a $10,000 match until Oct. 23.
Kids’ Food Basket serves more than 8,800 kids at 52 schools where 70 percent or more of the students receive free or reduced-cost lunch in Kent, Muskegon, Ottawa, and Allegan counties.
More than 300 volunteers show up daily to help prepare, pack, and deliver Sack Suppers. To learn more about Kids’ Food Basket programs, visit kidsfoodbasket.org.
