UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 25, 2023) – Weather played havoc with the scheduled opening night of high school football on Thursday along the Lakeshore, with only two games completed, as Holland Christian defeated Holland, 42-6, and West Ottawa lost to Grand Ledge, 37-30. The Stevensville Lakeshore at Zeeland West game was suspended, with the contest to be resumed at 11 AM today, while the Williamston at Zeeland East contest will be played this evening. The Buchanan at Saugatuck game is set for 4 PM today, with coverage at 3:40 PM on The Lakeshore’s 92 7 The Van. Hamilton’s game with Plainwell has been moved northwest on M-89 to Hamilton High School, with a 4 PM kickoff, while the Fennville at Our Lady of the Lake 8-man match is tomorrow evening in St. Joseph.
