GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 17, 2023) – Two Holland women are awaiting sentencing on various charges stemming from allegedly attempting to smuggle contraband into the Ottawa County Jail this spring.
According to Sheriff’s Detective Captain Jake Sparks, 36-year-old Marsha Bell purported sent a couple of packages in late April and early May to 32-year-old Monique Molina, who was behind bars on an undisclosed, unrelated charge at the time. The packages, disguised as legal mail, contained what was later determined to be Buprenorphine, and were seized before they entered the correctional facility.
Last month, 20th Circuit Court Judge Jon Hulsing ordered the two women held without bond.
