HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 11, 2023) – Two teenagers were taken to the Ottawa County Juvenile Detention Center on Thursday afternoon following a police chase involving a stolen vehicle on Holland’s North Side.
According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Brad Bennett, the chase began in Holland shortly after 12 Noon near West 17th Street and Van Raalte Avenue, but the vehicle evaded the Public Safety Police Services officers after a brief pursuit. Sheriff’s Deputies then spotted the vehicle about 15 minutes later near the intersection of 120th Avenue and James Street, and after another short chase eastbound, the vehicle went off of the roadway on 112th Avenue and crashed into a utility pole. The two unnamed teens then attempted to flee on foot, but were soon captured in the nearby neighborhood. No injuries were reported in either chase.
The two are expected to face multiple charges as the matter remains under investigation.
