SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 31, 2023) – Three surveys involving the City of Saugatuck are winding down.
Two of them end on Monday. The Waterfront Development Survey looks at priorities, concerns and preferences, while Visual Preferences goes over images with different building designs, forms and architectural elements, looking to identify patterns and trends regarding preferences among those participating in this canvassing. City officials want to access land use regulations applicable to the area along Water and Park streets, updating the Zoning Ordinance so that adequate riverfront protection is in place related to development and redevelopment, open space, public access, the environment, parking and traffic.
The other survey, open through next Monday, August 7, involves how Saugatuck should address short term rentals. A Task Force devoted to this issue wants to understand people’s views of the opportunities and issues involved, and will use the polling to help determine what ordinance amendments, if any, should be recommended to the City Council.
Online links to these surveys are available through the City of Saugatuck’s website.
