HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 19, 2023) – Tax Abatements and a Master Plan highlight Wednesday evening’s biweekly Holland City Council business meeting.
Public hearings will be held before the governing body votes on proposed 12-year tax abatements for ATC Drivetrain and VP Tool and Supply. ATC wants to spend nearly $3 million to convert three of five units inside of an 80,000 square-foot building off of Waverly Road into one 48,000 square-foot unit, with an August of 2025 target date for completion, creating 39 permanent jobs. VP Tool and Supply is planning to spend over $270,000 to covert one of seven units of a 39,000 square-foot building off of West 64th Street for its operations, with two full-time hires expected. That work was expected to be completed by last month.
In addition, the Planning Commission has put forward a new draft Master Plan that the City Council is being asked to approve for distribution. This would be ahead of a public hearing on October 10th and a final vote for adoption on October 18th. Some of the highlights of the plan include an updated Future Land Use Map, a Washington Square Vision Plan, updated goals and action items, a Historic Preservation chapter, and a Neighborhood Improvement Committee Blueprint.
The Holland City Council meeting is at 6 PM in Chambers at Holland City Hall. An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
