PORT SHELDON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 5, 2023) – For the second time in about a month, a 20-year-old Holland man who apparently walked away from an adult foster home north of the Tulip City was found and returned to his residence safely again.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Keith Biros, Terry Sims was last seen at the residence in the area of 164th Avenue and New Holland Street just before 12 Midnight on Monday evening. Despite the deployment of a department canine unit, the 5-2 to 5-4, 124-pound black man with short, curly hair was not located overnight. Exactly 30 days earlier, he was reported missing from that residence, and it took about 20 hours before he had been safely located and returned. During that time, a man fitting his description was spotted on Grand Haven’s south pier.
On Wednesday evening, the same scenario apparently repeated itself, as Sims was located safely after being missing for about 40 hours and returned to his home, although Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Smoes didn’t say under what circumstances the missing man was spotted.
