ALLENDALE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 2, 2023) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a collision with a SUV north of Allendale on Saturday night.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Smoes, a 24-year-old Fruitport man was on his Yamaha, eastbound on Warner Street around 10 PM, when an SUV, attempting to turn left from 72nd Avenue, apparently failed to yield to the two-wheeled vehicle who had the right of way, causing the crash.
The motorcyclist, who was thrown from his machine, was taken to an undisclosed Grand Rapids hospital in serious condition for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The 47-year-old Allendale man driving the SUV suffered bumps and bruises, while a 16-year-old boy in that vehicle was not hurt.
