ALLENDALE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 15, 2023) – A 39-year-old Houston man was injured in a crash of two semis west of Allendale on Monday morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Cal Keuning, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to 96th Avenue and Lake Michigan Drive (M-45) around 8:35 AM. That was where the Texan was attempting to turn left from the state trunk road and went into the path of the other semi, who couldn’t avoid a collision.
The Houston man was taken to Trinity Health-Grand Haven in stable condition, while the other trucker, a 52-year-old man from Wilmington, North Carolina, was not hurt. The crash blocked the westbound lane of M-45 for about 90 minutes.
No names were disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
