John R. Meengs, age 85, of Holland, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Corewell Health Butterworth Campus, following a brief illness.
Until his retirement, John was a Deacon at All Saints Episcopal Church in Saugatuck. He was also on the Board of Directors of Herrick Public Library, founded Teamwork employment services, and served as a counselor at Wedgewood Christian Services and an on-call chaplain for Holland Hospital.
John was preceded in death by his son, John Russel Meengs in 2001.

A memorial service is planned for 11:00 am Tuesday, May 16, at All Saints Episcopal Church, 252 Grand Street, Saugatuck, with Rev. Jay Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church’s memorial garden. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00-7:00 pm Monday, May 15 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E 16th St., Holland.
