FERRYSBURG, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 8, 2023) – A natural gas leak west of Ferrysburg caused some anxious moments on Monday.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jake MacKeller, deputies, other first responders and Michigan Gas Utilities crews were dispatched to the area of North Shore Road between Coast Guard Park and Parkwood Drive just before 11:30 AM on a report of a break in a pipeline there. About four hours later, repairs were completed successfully, and the area was not only reopened to traffic, but residents were able to return to their homes.
MacKeller didn’t explain what led to the leak, and there were no injuries or property damage reported.
