CASCO TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 4, 2023) – A woman lost her life and a man is in custody following a fatal crash on Wednesday afternoon north of South Haven.
According to Allegan County Sheriff’s Sergeant Kyle Baker, deputies and other first responders were dispatched just before 3 PM to the junction of 109th Avenue and 66th Street. That was where a westbound vehicle was struck on its side by a northbound vehicle that drove through a stop sign.
The woman driving the westbound vehicle succumbed to her injuries at the scene, while the man driving the northbound vehicle was taken to the Allegan County Jail, awaiting arraignment on charges, as alcohol was believed to be a factor in the collision.
No names were immediately disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
