HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 3, 2023) – Before celebrating Holland’s annual signature event, the Holland City Council has one major task ahead of itself.
During Wednesday’s biweekly business meeting, the Tulip City’s governing panel will hold a public hearing ahead of a scheduled vote on a proposed Fiscal Year 2024 municipal budget. The spending plan drafted by City Manager Keith Van Beek and his staff calls for overall spending of $215.5 million, with $30.5 million comprising of general fund money, and a dip of $8.3 million in financial reserves to balance the budget.
Mayor Nathan Bocks says that the spending plan doesn’t call for any tax hike, as the property levy has remained constant for more than a decade.
The Holland City Council meets in Chambers at Holland City Hall (270 S. River Ave.), beginning at 6 PM. An online link to the meeting agenda and supporting documents, including the proposed budget, is here.
