ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 1, 2023) – It’s time to determine the financial road map for the City of Zeeland in Fiscal 2024.
City Council members will hold a public hearing on Monday evening ahead of a vote on approving a $76.8 million budget for the year that begins on July 1st. It’s a nearly 15.7% increase in spending from the current year’s plan, but it takes into account a 14.3% improvement in revenue, with transfers from savings making up the difference.
Mayor Kevin Klynstra is well aware that, despite what appears to be a funding imbalance, city staffers are trying to keep costs down.
A work-study session is set for 5:45 PM, followed by the business meeting at 7 PM, both in Chambers at Zeeland City Hall (21 S. Elm St.). Click on the highlighted links for the meeting agenda and supporting documents, as well as the proposed budget.
