HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 1, 2023) – No injuries were reported after fire struck an apartment building in Holland Heights during the overnight hours on Sunday.
According to Department of Public Safety Fire Operations Captain Chris Tinney, crews were dispatched to a structure in the Stratford Way complex around 5 AM on a report of a blaze seen on the deck of one of the apartment units. Quick work by responding firefighters contained the flames to an exterior wall and eaves, in a relatively small area, and stayed on the scene for a couple of hours as a precaution. Residents who were evacuated as a result of the blaze were able to return to their units once it was determined that they could safely do so.
No official cause of the fire was immediately determined by Fire Marshal Bret Groendyke as the incident remains under investigation.
