LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 27, 2023) – A tool to help families deal with the legal process in Michigan has now been put into place.
MI-Resolve Family System is a free, online platform established by the state Supreme Court that officials say will help families resolve parenting time and other domestic relations matters that are typically filed in circuit courts. Each of the high court’s 16 community dispute resolution program centers will administer this initiative.
State Supreme Court Chief Justice Elizabeth Clement explained how this program works in a recent appearance on “WHTC Morning News” with Dan Evans.
The program is an offshoot of how things are done had to be changed when the COVID 19 outbreak arrived three years ago.
Interested parents can call their local Community Dispute Resolution Center or their Friend of the Court if they would like to explore using MI-Resolve Family System to resolve their dispute. In Allegan and Ottawa counties, Mediation Services on Holland’s North Side (616-399-1600) handles this program.
