HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 24, 2023) – A program to help Holland Public Schools teachers grow roots in the community that they serve continues to bear fruit.
On Thursday, four educators were awarded $25,000 grants each, specifically towards a down payment of a residence in or near the district. Middle school art teacher Tracy Conley, high school social studies teacher Jessica Forman, elementary grade teacher Angela Gonzalez-Urbana and kindergarten teacher Alba Mercado Rosado, both from the Holland Language Academy, joined Language Academy instructor Lillian Snoeyink as the first five recipients of Teachers Live Here grants.
Superintendent Nick Cassidy discussed the program with Dan Evans during a “WHTC Talk of the Town” appearance.
Five more grant recipients will be announced before June 30th, with district administrators and Holland Educational Foundation members meeting monthly to review applications.
