HICKORY CORNERS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — If you’ve ever wondered just what’s under the hood of all the vehicles at the Gilmore Car Museum, you’re in luck.
The museum raised all the hoods on it’s vehicles on Monday, March 6, and will keep them up until Monday, March 20 for gearheads and car lovers of all types to explore and enjoy.
Some of the engines featured will include 1960s big block muscle, inline fours, vintage V8s, along with early air-cooled engines.
Special programming throughout the two weeks will include free Horsepower Tours of notable high-performance engines in vehicles throughout the collection, with discussion on their unique features, power, torque, and prowess, with special focus to be placed on legendary engines found in the Muscle Car and 1950s/1960s Galleries.
Local muscle car restoration experts and engine builders will lead the one hour tours.
The museum will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
