SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 27, 2023) – With hopes that the electricity that has been off in parts of the area for nearly a week will be back on, the Saugatuck City Council has its biweekly business meeting scheduled for Monday evening.
Among the items on the agenda is an update on plans by AT&T to build up its facilities on Mount Baldhead. In his report for this meeting, City Manager Ryan Heise said that he and his staff are working with the telecommunication firm’s government liaisons officials in reviewing installing and service agreements and permitting, along with coordinating efforts with Allegan County’s Broadband Project Manager Jill Dunham.
Also under consideration is a vote on increasing fees for government services, some of which, according to Heise, hasn’t been updated for several years. Council will also look at the next steps for the city’s Short Term Rental Task Force, and go into closed session to review Heise’s performance as City Manager two years after he came across Lake Michigan from Wisconsin.
Monday’s Saugatuck City Council meeting begins at 7 PM in the second floor meeting room at Saugatuck City Hall (102 Butler St.). An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
