ROSEMONT, IL (WTVB) – Sources say a plan to have the Big Ten Conference play football starting October 17, 2020 is close to approval.
Insiders near the discussions held last weekend between the conference’s University Presidents said support to start a season in October had received a boost after a new medical update from the Return To Play Task Force.
The main scenario has all schools playing while other reports point to Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Maryland possibly sitting out.
If the conference decides to play, the season would be cut down to eight or nine games, followed by the Big Ten Championship.
