ALLENDALE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 3, 2023) – A three vehicle pileup near the Grand Valley State University main campus in Allendale hospitalized three persons on Friday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Eric Westveer, a southbound pickup truck on 48th Street apparently drove through a red light at Pierce Street, striking an eastbound sedan, and pushing that automobile into a stopped northbound vehicle. The incident around 2:45 PM sent the driver of the sedan, a 21-year-old Davisburg man, along with his two passengers – a 20-year-old White Lake man and a 19-year-old Northville man – to an undisclosed area hospital for treatment of “moderate” injuries. The other two drivers – a 58-year-old Battle Creek man behind the wheel of the pickup and a 61-year-old man from the Chicagoland suburb of Homewood – were not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
