HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 2, 2023) –The coolest event on the Lakeshore is coming to Downtown Holland this weekend! As part of the all-new Holland on Ice event on Friday, February 3 and Saturday, February 4, visitors are invited to head to Downtown Holland to witness the nation’s best professional ice carvers at work as they transform over 10,000 pounds of ice into incredible works of art! Holland on Ice is proudly hosted by Downtown Holland inpartnership with the Holland Area Visitors Bureau and with in-kind support from the Courtyard Marriott.
During the two-day winter festival, visitors can play frozen games made out ice, pose for photos with interactive ice sculptures, and stroll throughout Downtown Holland to check out the over 15 ice sculptures on display, commissioned by Downtown Holland businesses. Live carving will take place in GDK Park on 8th Street between Central and River Avenues from 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm each day of the event. Sculptures will remain on display in Downtown Holland as long as the weather permits.
Downtown Holland will also host the popular Meltdown Sale on February 3 and 4 as part of Holland on Ice. A total of 30 Downtown Holland clothing boutiques, gift shops, art galleries, and specialty stores will be offering amazing deals all weekend long as they clear the shelves to make room for spring merchandise. Enjoy great deals and other fun giveaways and promotions as part this annual winter sale! With heated sidewalks that will keep your feet warm and dry while you stroll, hundreds of local shops, cafes, brewpubs and restaurants, and a popular social district with over a dozen participating establishment that’s open year-round, it’s no wonder that Downtown Holland is becoming West Michigan’s premier winter fun destination!
