ROBINSON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 26, 2023) – A 41-year-old Grand Haven man and his 12-year-old passenger were injured in a predawn crash between Allendale and Grand Haven on Thursday morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Ryan DeVries, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Lincoln Street and 128th Avenue around 6:50 AM. That was where an eastbound sedan was struck by a Grand Haven Area Public Schools bus that had made a left hand turn into the path of the automobile.
The unnamed motorist suffered bumps and bruises, refusing medical treatment at the scene, while the boy was taken to an undisclosed “area” hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The bus driver, a 58-year-old Grand Haven woman, was not hurt, and neither were any of the eight students who was inside at the time. Those pupils were taken to their school by another district bus.
The crash remains under investigation.
