ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 26, 2023) – While the Ottawa County Board continues to deal with public reaction to its organizational meeting of January 3rd, the board in neighboring Allegan County is conducting its business in a far quieter fashion.
During today’s planning session and subsequent business meeting, Commissioners Dean Kapenga and Jim Storey, along with their other three colleagues, will start developing the county’s strategic plans for the next two to five years, based in part on responses to a citizens’ survey commissioned last year on what priorities should the county have.
In addition, the board is expected to approve a resolution endorsing Holtec’s proposed repowering of the Palisades nuclear power plant in nearby Covert and its application for a grant from the US Department of Energy’s Civil Nuclear Credit Program.
The planning session begins at 9 AM, with the business meeting at 1 PM, at the County Services Building off of Dumont Lake (3283 122nd Avenue, Allegan). An online link to the agendas and supporting documents is here.
