Jan Allan De Jonge age 79, of Zeeland, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
Jan was born in Holland on September 24, 1943, to John and Fannie (Stegenga) De Jonge.
He graduated from Holland High School in 1961 and married Gloria Jean Schurman. He owned and operated JETCO Tool and Die, Bizzee Plastics, and United Tool and Mold. He was a lifetime member of the Holland Elks Lodge #1315 where he held local and national offices.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gloria; children, Robin Zuverink, Scott De Jonge, Tony, and Esquina De Jonge; 7 grandchildren, Courtney, Tracy, Chris, Leila, Tony, Noah, Gena; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard(Eleanor) De Jonge, David(Marilyn) De Jonge, Roseann Bryant(Marc Bishop), Donald(Debra) De Jonge; sister-in-law Edna DeJonge, Brother-in-law Doug(Dawn) Schurman, sister-in-law Mary Lou Schurman; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents John and Fannie De Jonge, Brothers Ernest and Bob De Jonge, Sister Patricia De Jonge, in-laws Lloyd and Laura Schurman, Brother-in-law Ross Schurman, and daughter-in-law Irma De Jonge.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, January 23, and 1 hr. prior to the funeral service. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland with Rev. Dennis Wilcox officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to the Elks National Foundation or the charity of one’s choice.
