Hope's Savannah Feenstra
Hope College’s Savannah Feenstra has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Association Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the second time this season and her career.
The senior forward from Osceola, Indiana (Northwood HS) is honored after averaging 16.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.5 assists per game during two Flying Dutch victories last week.
Feenstra shot 58.3 percent from the field and 81.0 percent from the free-throw line while helping fifth-ranked Hope win Ohio Wesleyan University’s Bishop Classic/Hoops for Hope tournament.
A nursing major, Feenstra scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds during an 89-71 victory against Otterbein University (Ohio) on Thursday.
Feenstra totaled 15 points and seven rebounds during an 85-66 victory against one-loss Carnegie Mellon University (Pa.) on Wednesday.
