SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 28, 2022) – Work on improving cellular service and broadband access in Lakeshore communities continues.
In his update notes ahead of tonight’s biweekly Saugatuck City Council meeting, City Manager Ryan Heise says that discussions continue with AT&T on an install and service agreement with the city, and that the carrier has expressed an interest in partnering with infrastructure improvements to facilities at Mount Baldhead, including possibly new restrooms and stairs.
Greg Clark is AT&T’s regional vice president for external and legislative affairs.
Heise added that engineers at the Mount Baldhead site have completed their radio frequency test from within the ball with satisfactory results, and that a feasibility study indicates that the site is viable as a base for cellular and broadband service improvements.
The Saugatuck City Council meeting begins this evening at 7 PM in the upstairs meeting room at Saugatuck City Hall (102 Butler Street). An online link to the agenda and support documents is here.
