HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 21, 2022) – A Thanksgiving Eve tradition along the Lakeshore is two days away.
For nearly three decades, what is now known as Gateway Mission has put on a banquet on the night before the Thanksgiving holiday to benefit the homeless and needy in the Holland area. Besides a free sit-down meal complete with all the fixings, guests also receive a gift package of goods that normally are not available for purchase with Bridge or SNAP benefit cards.
After canceling the event two years ago and curtailing attendance in 2021, both due to COVID 19-related health protocols, the Mission is hoping for pre-outbreak attendance at DeVos Fieldhouse on Wednesday evening, according to the Mission’s Director of Development Rachael Neal.
