Deana Sue Hicks, 63 of Fennville, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022, in Fennville, Michigan. Born March 11, 1959, in Oran, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Nelly (Carr) Dalton and the wife of the late Harold Jay Hicks. The Lord has called Deana up to be reunited with her loving husband of 48 years so he can continue to pick on and harass for forever in eternity. Deana had a strong faith and that faith came in handy while dealing with many health issues over the years and still surviving until this past week. She continually proved the doctors wrong. Even though she fought her health, that didn’t stop her from living a full and wonderful life. Being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Deana loved being around her family and spending time making cherished memories together. She left them a beautiful legacy and showed them that inner strength and determination, along with trust and faith in God, can allow you to overcome many obstacles. They will carry her in their heart in the days and years ahead.
Deana is survived by her family, Jayson (Christine) Hicks and their two children, Katelyn and Jordan Hicks; Clifton Hicks and his two children, Christopher and Makayla Hicks; Danielle Hicks and her daughter, Mya Hicks; and her brother, David (Crystal) Dalton; and her chosen sister and best friend, Reva Holtsclaw.
Along with her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Hicks; and her brother, Dan Dalton.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Fennville United Methodist Church (5849 124th Ave, Fennville, MI 49408) on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 3:00 PM with dinner to follow, Pastors Rick Jones and Robert Lynch officiating. Chappell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
