For the second time in team history, Hope College has four golfers on the All-MIAA Men’s Golf First Team in a single season.
Seth Almquist, Will Robson, Patrick Michael and Liam Casey all earned spots on the six-golfer first team with super play on the links this fall that helped the Flying Dutchmen secure their 22nd MIAA championship all-time.
It is the second time in team history four Flying Dutchmen have made the All-MIAA First Team. In 2018, Josh Gibson, Andrew Goble, Ben Kramer and Daniel Settecerri accomplished the feat.
Almquist carded the second-lowest average among MIAA golfers this fall at 74.0 over 108 holes. The senior from Minneapolis, Minnesota / Wayzata HS displayed consistency with all of his rounds between 72 and 76.
An education and chemistry major, Almquist claimed the second All-MIAA recognition of his career. Almquist was a second-team selection in 2021.
Robson is the eighth Hope men’s golfer to earn All-MIAA First Team honors three times in his career.
The junior from Grand Rapids, Michigan / East Grand Rapids placed fourth in the league in scoring at 75.17.
Michael shot the fourth-lowest average among MIAA golfers in his collegiate debut. The freshman from Carmel, Indiana (Carmel) finished at 75.67.
Like Michael, Casey (Northville, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) played in all six jamborees for the Flying Dutchmen as a freshman and posted a scoring average of 76.3.
