ROCHESTER, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Republican challenger Tudor Dixon held their second and final debate before the November 8 election Tuesday night.
Both candidates again called their opponent a liar, with Proposal 3 to legalize abortion rights being a central issue as Dixon said Whitmer is an extremist who wants no limits on abortions. Whitmer countered by saying Proposal 3 is needed to protect women’s bodily autonomy.
The governor also said inflation is a global issue, not just in the United States, and added the Republican bills Dixon wants approved to cut taxes are “gimmicks” that don’t solve any problems.
