Dennis Walters, 93, of Zeeland, went to be with his Lord on January 11, 2019.
Dennis was born April 7, 1925, to Frank and Della Walters. Dennis married Harriet Knoll, they raised their family in Zeeland. They were members of First Christian Reformed Church where Dennis served as an elder and deacon. Dennis also served on the board of Zeeland Christian School. Dennis and Harriet were the owners of Walters Gardens. Dennis was a kind and generous man that lived a life of gratitude. Harriet preceded Dennis in death in 2008 after 62 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his sister Jean Avink, his brother Floyd Walters, his daughter in law Debbie Walters, and daughter in law Joan Walters.
Dennis is survived by his children: David and Marcia Walters, John and Diane Walters, Mary Walters and Robert Truesdell, Bev and Randy Hop, Bonnie and Mike Vande Vusse, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, siblings: Harold and Genevieve Walters, Wilma Busscher, Henry and Connie Walters, Jason and Barb Walters; and sister-in-law Joyce Brinkman.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, January 13, 2019, at First Christian Reformed Church, 15 S. Church Street, Zeeland. The Revs. Tom Pettinga and Bernard Mulder will officiate. Visitation will be 3:00-6:00 pm Sunday, at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland. Burial will be in Zeeland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider Hospice of Holland, Zeeland Christian School or the Bridge Youth Ministries.
