Johanna “Jo” Heuvelhorst Dykstra, age 94, of Zeeland passed away Monday, January 14, 2019.
She was born on August 24, 1924 to Henry and Alice Van Dellen. Jo was preceded in death by her husbands, Gerald Heuvelhorst and Willard Dykstra; her siblings: Richard (Marian) Van Dellen, Edward (Helen) Van Dellen, Anne (Jay) Poll and Cornelia (John) Zuidema.
She is survived by her dear friends: Minnie and Don De Witt, Greta Vanden Berg and Perry and Marcia Newenhouse; her stepchildren: Doug and Arloa Dykstra, Irwin and Ginger Dykstra, James and Beverly Dykstra, Donna Overway , Mary Damstra and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jo lived in the same house in Zeeland since she was married in 1947. She was a silk screener for many years at Block Craft Toy Factory. Jo loved traveling, a good party, and playing cards with the girls. She was a member of Community Reformed Church.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street, Zeeland. The funeral service will be 12 noon, Friday, January 18, 2019 at Community Reformed Church, 10376 Felch Street, Zeeland. Interment will be in Zeeland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the ALS Association.
